Error 1923: Service ‘Office Source Engine’ (ose) could not be installed
If you installed a prerelease version of office 2007. You might get this error message
when you try to install the full version of office 2007.
One solution is to restart you computer once you uninstall the prerelease version of office, and then
install the full version.
my microsoft office 2007 pro just suddenly stopped working. it said i needed to reinstall or restart. restart did not work, it gave me this error message as well error 1923 service “office source engine” (ose) could not beinstalled. i dont know why this suddenly just happened, i have been using it for months now, i didnt do anyting. can you help? i have seen a post that says something about installing a pre release version, but i didnt install anything so i dont know what to uninstall, i didnt see any pre release version in my progrmas to un install. i dont want to unhinstall office and reinstall it for fear of losing information in my outlook calenmdar i need for work, what cani do?

Is there any other error message in the Event Logs? Also, you can try using the Microsoft Diagnose Tools.
