There are two ways that you can check which server is currently acting as the Primary server role in a VMware Cluster.

1. Use the GUI (vcenter)
2. Use the CLI

Using the GUI

– Click a Cluster
– Select the ‘Summary’ tab
– Look and click on the ‘Cluster Operational Status’ link
