If you are experiencing no sounds on your laptop, here are some steps you need to take in troubleshooting the problem.

1. Make sure it isn’t in MUTE mode.

2. Make sure the correct Audio driver is installed

3. Make sure you speakers is working properly. You can test if there is a problem with your speakers by plugging in a headset into your computer. If you hear sounds, then your speakers might be busted.

4. Make sure you have selected your speakers as the Playback device. You can check this on the ‘Sounds and Audio” option under control panel in XP and ‘Sound’ option under Vista.
