Solaris : How to reset root password
How to reset the root password in Solaris?
1. Restart the machine and when you are at the GRUB menu press the ‘e’ button to edit it.
2. Highlight the line with the ‘kernel’ word and press the ‘e’ button to edit it.
3. Append ‘-s’ <— without the quote to the end of the line and press ‘enter’
4. Press ‘b’ to boot
5. Login with any account
6. Type ‘passwd’ and enter a new root password.
7. Restart the machine and your root password should be changed.
